Tools

I was surprised at the few number of special tools that were required, apart from the usual assortment of tools normally found in my toolbox were:-

Essential tools include:-

1. Torque wrench.

2. 27mm A/F socket for crank bolt.

3. M6x1.0mm  tap (clean out thermostat housing threads).

4. M7x1.0mm  tap (plug type, for cleaning out waterpump threads).

4. M14x1.25mm (for cleaning out spark plug threads).

5. 15mm A/F ring spanner (exhaust manifold).

6. Valve spring compressor (long reach type).

7. Piston ring compressor.

8. Block and tackle.

Additional home made tools

1. Flywheel locking bracket, fits into starter motor apperture.

2. Clutch pressure plate clamps.

3. Engine holding frame.

4. Hoist 'A' frame.

5. Long series 30mm A/F socket modified to fit gearbox output flange nut.

6. Engine lifting bar.

7. Clutch friction plate alignment tool.
