Idle Control Valve   

Problem
On starting the engine would die as soon as any throttle was applied, this happened 3 out of ten starts. Had to let tick over for a while then switch off and re-start, sometimes had to do this 3 - 4 times before all kicked in ok.

Solution
Ian Marsh diagnosed this valve sticking and just a clean would do the trick. This was done 21/5/99, so time will tell.
Valve was removed and simply sprayed win winnes carb cleaner, I've never used the stuff before and the guy at the store said it was good gear. It really is too, the crap just disintergrated away.
